ORCA Learn to Run Clinic 2025

Yes – we’re doing it again! Start 2025 by joining us for a gentle, safe, and fun training program.

The Oceanside Running Club Association is pleased to again offer a winter/spring Learn to Run
Program for adults 19 years or older who want to learn or re-learn healthy running skills at a
personalized pace in a friendly and supportive environment. Build your endurance and find your stride,
gradually increasing to 30-45 minutes of continuous running or run/walking over the course of 15 weeks. We meet
in all kinds of weather (exception- ice/snow on sidewalks) so appropriate dress is recommended.

Whether your goal is to establish a regular running or run/walking routine to improve your fitness; or to build a base for future longer distance challenges; or simply to train for the Oceanside Mother’s Day 5K Run, then this is the way to start your journey!

Level:    Beginners, former runners, and runners returning from injury.

Cost:    $45.00 includes a 2025 ORCA membership, wrap-up social event, and entry (non-transferable) to the
5K portion of the Oceanside Mother’s Day 10 Run and 5K Run/Walk on May 11, 2025.

Dates:   Thursday evenings from January 30, 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm (approximately) at various
Parksville/Qualicum Beach locations, announced before each Thursday session. For the first 6
sessions we will meet at the Jensen Centre, 132 Jensen Ave EAST, Parksville (adjacent to Parksville City Hall/ Library).

Prerequisite: A pair of running shoes, determination (“Yes – I can do this!”) and the ability to walk briskly and continuously for 35-45 minutes (not window-shopping pace).

Registration: Opens Monday December 2, 2024 online at Raceroster.com. Once your registration is received, a detailed program information package will be emailed to you.
