Join us for a gentle, safe, and fun training program.
The Oceanside Running Club Association is pleased to once again offer a winter/spring Learn to Run Program for adults, 19 years or older who want to learn or re-learn healthy running skills at a personalized pace in a friendly group. Build your endurance and find your stride, gradually increasing to 30-45 minutes of running continuously over the course of 15 weeks. We meet in all kinds of weather (exception- ice/snow on sidewalks) so appropriate dress is recommended.
Level: Beginners, former runners and runners returning from injury.
Cost: $45.00 includes a 2023 ORCA membership, final wrap up social event, and a 5 KM run to test
your hard-earned running ability. (More 5 K race details to follow in late January)
Dates: Thursday evenings from February 02, 2023, 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm (approximately) at various Parksville/Qualicum locations, announced before each Thursday session. For the first 6 sessions we will meet at the Craig Street Commons (formerly Parksville Elementary School), 330 Craig St (at Stanford), Parksville.
Prerequisite: A pair of running shoes, determination (“Yes – I can do this!”) and the ability to walk briskly and continuously for 35-45 minutes (not window-shopping pace).
