Tuesday PM Tempo/Speed Runs

The group meets at Ballenas High School parking lot on Pym St at 6:00pm.

The workouts vary from 21 minutes to 40 minutes with weekly changes to the intervals. The program restarts a few times a year and aligns with events such as the Victoria Marathon. The route is an out and back so no one gets left behind. Be prepared to sweat. Coached by Jackie.

Start time is at 6:00pm.

The Workout

We do an easy 2 or 3km warm. You can expect 20 to 30 minutes of moderate to fast running with breaks dispersed throughout. An example: 5 x 5 minutes at 10k pace with 1 minute rests. Since everyone has a different pace, the route is set up so that we are rejoining each other after each interval.

Requirements

Enthusiasm is a must. For the warm days, bring water. Be prepared for the weather especially those wet and cold days. We do run on the streets so good lighting and reflective gear is advisable during the dark months.
