President’s Note
At this AGM several important issues will be discussed including the upcoming Mother’s Day Race Events, the Learn to Run Program and future Club and Donation Funding. These events and programs are the financial mainstay of our “Charitable Society”. They provide the necessary funding for our Society’s yearly operations and Charity Donations. Discussion of our current financials will be an AGM Agenda item this year.
As well, our continued functioning as a Charitable Society requires a club Executive and many volunteers to see to the yearly operations. We need you and your involvement. Please don’t assume that someone else will do it!
Your voice is important to this Executive. We need and welcome your input and discussion of these and other topics for the upcoming ORCA year at our 2020 AGM.
Please plan to attend.
Paul D. Watson, President
Tuesday Evening Tempo will be starting back at the beginning of our program on Tuesday Sept 1st. If anyone would like to join the tempo group, this would be a good time to start. We start at 6:00 pm at Ballenas high School.
Contact Jackie Allen for information.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Team ORCA is truly saddened not to be celebrating Mother’s Day with you in person or celebrating your race day goals at the 2020 Oceanside Mother’s Day Race. First and foremost, we hope you are staying healthy during these uncertain times.
We would like to extend our deep gratitude to the health care and front line workers for their commitment to community during this pandemic.
Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the Oceanside Mother’s Day Race Committee and the Oceanside Running Club Association (ORCA) have cancelled the Sunday May 10, 2020 race. Racers, volunteers and sponsors will receive an email from the organizers.
Thank you for your patience during this time. We feel it is the right and necessary thing to do for the safety of all and doing our part to stop the spread of the virus.
We look forward to seeing you next year,
Sunday, May 9th, 2021!
