BAZAN BAY 5K: Team ORCA Record-Setting Sweep
The Oceanside Running Club (Team ORCA) continues its successful start to the Vancouver Island Runners’ Association Winter Series. After gaining winning times and personal bests at the Cobble Hill 10K more medals were brought home to Oceanside at the recent Bazan Bay 5K.
Melissa Ross was the 6th overall woman finisher and first in her age division (W 30-34) with a fast time of 18:11. A superb effort, Melissa!
Faye Amos set a new course record finishing first (W 65-69) in 23:47–Wow!
Jill Davies (W 70-74) and Jim McLean (M 85-89) both took silver in their respective age divisions and Goldie Lindenbach was on the podium in 6th place (W 65-69).
Kudos to all of our ORCA competitors and support crews. It takes time and effort to get to these VI races–you make us proud!
