ORCA Sale at OUTSIDER Store in QB

Tuesday December 5th: 10.00 am – 7.00 pm
Wednesday December 6th: 10.00 am – 7.30 pm

It is sad news to hear that the Outsider Adventures store in Qualicum will be closed before the end of this month. Michael Addiscot has always been a staunch and very generous supporter not just of Team ORCA but also our Oceanside Mother’s Day 10K Run& 5K Run/Walk. The store closure will leave a huge gap for us in our club, our Mothers’ Day event and other outside pursuits!

Next Tuesday and Wednesday December 5th and 6th Michael is offering ‘Team ORCA Sale Days’ with a 35% discount on all running gear plus an additional 10% off any other items ( including those already discounted) within the store. This is a special opportunity for you to purchase sports essentials, running, trail and track gear, hiking cycling and paddling essentials, cosy underwear, socks and other gifts to spoil ourselves, each other and our loved ones this coming Christmas season. As a special concession the store will be open late for those who have legitimate day-time jobs!

This is a great opportunity to reciprocate the support given to our club over many years and, at the same time, make some great bargain purchases! For more information, call Jill at 250.468.0296

Nov. 11th, 2017 ORCA Annual General Meeting (AGM)

The 2017 ORCA AGM

Date: Saturday, November 11th, 2017

Time: 10 a.m. to 10:35 a.m.

Place: The Club Room at 454 Morison Avenue (park on the street, not inside the Windsor Court housing complex)

Thanks to the 20 faithful ORCA members who helped to choose the charities we will support–especially youth running programs and mental health support programs in our community. In between launching ping pong balls to keep up the tempo, the group enjoyed complimentary coffee, tea, goodies, and draw prizes. Thanks for cheering on your ORCA volunteer Directors, honouring award recipients, and enjoying a memorable post-Saturday run event in time to participate in local Remembrance Day events. Tribute to Jill Davies (Ken Owen Award winner–limitless energy, support, and creative leadership) and Barb Low (Racer of the Year Award winner–slow but steady through 16 road and trail events)!

Thanks to all the ORCAs who helped to make this year a success.

ORCA Christmas Party December 9th!

Plan on attending our seasonal ORCA event on Saturday, December 9th from 6-10:30 pm at the Nanoose Bay Library Hall (2489 Nanoose Road near Red Gap). This year, we are delighted to feature Dean William’s band for live entertainment. Plan ahead to BYOB and one potluck dish to share. Wear clothes and shoes you can boogie in!

There is no cover charge this year!

Time for Tempo Tuesdays!

Want to pick up the pace through the summer? Beginning Tuesday, June 6th, the Tuesday night ORCA tempo group will be launching the tempo program. This would be a good time for anyone who may be interested in joining tempo to come out.

We meet at Ballenas high school main parking lot at 6:00pm every Tuesday evening.
